Strobeam Location Lighting Course - Jonathan Ryan

Looking for some great value lighting training then take a look at this. This really is a fantastic deal especially if you are looking to buy some new lights. Local photographer Jonathan Ryan is running a series of courses the next being on 29th April in central London.  You can see all the details at http://strobeamlon.eventbrite.co.uk/ The following is copied from the eventbrite site ....

Get to grips with location based lighting.

Up until now, the choice has been location lighting or studio lighting.  Very, very few studio lights can be used safely and reliably outdoors.  And use an outdoor light indoors and you'll run into loads of issues.

Until now.

Strobeam has recently launched a new range of mains AND battery powered lights with an unprecendented level of control.  We'd like to show you how to get the best out of it.

And don't worry if you already have your own lights - you're bound to pick up loads of tips and tricks too.  And you may just find that you want to upgrade!

The day

We're running an all day lighting seminar right in the heart of London.  Whether you're a complete lighting novice or an established photographer you're bound to pick up some great tips and ideas from our lighting pro Jonathan Ryan.  He'll be demonstrating the new lights live with multiple light setups and professional models and shooting tethered directly to the big screen.

You'll be amazed at all the new features that the Strobeams pack -

  • multi channel fully functional remote control - set flash powers, modelining lights and slave cells from your camera position
  • amazing recycle time - we've run Strobeam heads at reduced power on a camera shooting 11 frames per second and every shot was perfectly exposed
  • incredibly light battery system - forget packs weighing several kilos.  This one beats them all.  And delivers flash after flash after flash.
  • mains power for you want to shoot indoors.  You thought the battery recycle time was good?  Plug it into the mains and prepare to be amazed.

As well as the lights, we'll be showing you some of the newest lighting modifiers and accessories around.  If you prefer to shoot with hotshoe speedlights then there will be something for you too!  Wait until you see our new triggers and softboxes.

We'll be running a full day lighting demonstrations.  At break time you'll be able to get up close and personal with the equipment and time permitting you can try it out for yourself (so bring your camera!)

The cost

A whole day of product demonstration and lighting tuition for just £35 - even better book early and save £10!  The whole day for just £25.

And if you love the kit then the Strobeam sales team will be on hand with substantial discounts on their products too.

The venue

We'll be in a vast training room at Birkbeck College in Malet Street (see map).  This is a short walk from both Kings Cross and Euston mainline stations and is also served by Russel Square and Tottenham Court Road tube stations.  There are secure racks for cycles and several bus routes.

There is no parking available at Birkbeck however there is an NCP car park nearby and since it's a Sunday, street parking may be available (PLEASE check regulations!).

No refreshments are provided but we'll be breaking for lunch and there are plenty of sandwich shops etc in the area.  I suggest you load up with your favourite takeaway beverage before you arrive.  There are numerous vending machines throughout the building as well as a Costa Coffee.

Just one more thing...

This event really is the ideal "try before you buy".  Any delegates who purchase more than £500 worth of equipment on the day or within 7 days after the seminar will receive a full refund of their ticket price.
